7 November 2019 – Makati Business Club and the Philippines-U.S. Business Council bid farewell to U.S. Ambassador Sung Kim at a lunch in Raffles Hotel.

Celebrating Ambassador Kim’s work and Philippine-U.S. relations, friends and guests from the Makati Business Club, Philippines-U.S. Business Council, the U.S. Embassy, and the U.S. Department of State joined the event.

Ambassador Jose L. Cuisia, Chairman of the Philippines-U.S. Business Council, said Ambassador Kim’s efforts are symbolized by the return of the Balangiga Bells in 2018. He also thanked the U.S. government for their assistance during the Marawi Siege, and Ambassador Kim’s efforts to support the Philippine private sector and various organizations that promote Philippine-U.S. ties.

In his response, Ambassador Kim expressed his appreciation for the advise and counsel he got from Philippine business leaders. He spoke of U.S. funding for education programs and assured attendees that the U.S. government remains “fully engaged” in the Philippines.
