Shell Pilipinas’ President and CEO Lorelie Quiambao-Osial
is the new Philippine-British Business Council Chairman

15 August 2024 – During the Philippine-British Business Council’s Membership Meeting, Shell President and CEO Lorelie Quiambao-Osial was announced as the new Chairman of the council.
Ms. Quiambao-Osial succeeded former Philippine Ambassador to the UK and Chairman of the Capital Shares Investment Corporation Ambassador Jesus Tambunting who has served as the Council’s Chairman for twenty-six (26) years.
“I’m delighted that the Philippines British Business Council is being revitalised. Now is the right time to write a new, exciting chapter together. Trade between our two countries has never been higher. We have more than 200 British companies working in the Philippines, and we get more enquiries all the time. The new UK Government has placed trade at the heart of its priorities. Together, I’m confident that we will further boost our trade, and strengthen our collaborations, and address pressing problems around sustainable growth and economic security,” said British Ambassador to the Philippines Laure Beaufils, who hosted the meeting at her residence.
“The opportunities that we have in this day and age, and challenges that come with it really require different sectors coming together, different companies coming together and working together when it comes to innovation, co-creation, and collaboration. I’m keen to be able to do that together with the co chairs and members..so that we can indeed create more opportunities, move policy, and be thought leaders when it comes to moving forward and even strengthening the Philippines-UK business relationship and friendship.” said Lorelie Quiambao-Osial.
Ambassador Tambunting and MBC Chairman Ed Chua will sit as Co-Vice Chairman of the PBBC.
Notable attendees also include DTI Undersecretary for Communications Ed Sunico, Philippine National Bank Chairman Edgar Cua, and HSBC President and CEO Sandeep Uppa, among many others.
MBC is the secretariat of the Philippine-British Business Council, which aims to facilitate engagements between the Philippines and the U.K to promote bilateral business opportunities, ideas, and policies that support an innovative and competitive economy.
