Freedom of Information

Access to information gives businesses the data they need to make job-creating investments.
In the US, businesses and law firms make up 56% of FOI requests, helping them serve shareholders and clients and create more jobs. Our goal is to help Philippine businesses gain that advantage. Since 2009, MBC has represented the private sector in the Right to Know Right Now (R2KRN) Coalition–a group of more than 160 individuals and organizations advocating for the passage of FOI Law. Since 2020, we have partnered with Washington DC-based Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) to build more private sector support for an FOI Law and local FOI ordinances.

Business: Why FOI is for you

It creates a level-playing field for the private sector

Strengthens legal compliance by mandating data release from regulators
