Agriculture Policy Officer
MMakati Business Club is looking for one (1) Agriculture Policy Officer, who will be working with a young, fun, and dynamic staff.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and manage MBC’s work in the area of agriculture & food security
- Produce actionable plans for such initiatives, presenting to and discussing with various partners and principals from government and private sectors
- Build and manage relationships with current and potential partners, and work with heads to obtain funding or funded projects
- Produce clear, concise, and accurate briefers, reports, research, and position papers in a timely manner
- Lead legislative monitoring and assist with legislative advocacy in the agriculture sector
- Assist the Policy Manager and Executive Director in strategizing, conceptualizing. and executing MBC projects
- Assist with quarterly GDP reports, legislative monitoring, and other economic and advocacy initiatives.
- Keep up to date with developments in the agriculture and food security space.
- All other tasks assigned by the Policy manager and Executive Director
Qualifications
- 3-5 years work experience in advocacy work
- Degree in economics, political science, political economy or related social science fields.
- Interest in the agriculture sector, familiarity with the agriculture sector is a plus.
- Excellent research, written and oral communication skills
- Ability to assist and conduct designs for roundtable discussions and interviews.
- Ability to work independently and in teams, with high initiative and can multitask and pitch new idea
