MBC successfully conducts its Annual General Meeting; Re-elects Board of Trustees

02 July 2025 – The Makati Business Club member representatives re-elects its board of trustees during the 2025 Annual General Meeting.

The board of MBC is composed of eleven trustees and this year, six (6) seats were up for elections. The following incumbent members of the board were re-elected for another two-year term:

  • DORIS MAGSAYSAY HO, A. Magsaysay, Inc.
  • RIZALINA MANTARING, Former Sun Life Financial Holdings Inc.
  • PETER MAQUERA, Microsoft Philippines
  • JOSE VICTOR PATERNO, Philippine Seven Corp.
  • RAMON DEL ROSARIO JR., PHINMA Group
  • JAIME AUGUSTO ZOBEL DE AYALA, Ayala Corp.

Their expertise have helped MBC push for its advocacies and policy discussions with key stakeholders in the private sector and the government. Doris Magsaysay-Ho and Victor Paterno have been actively supporting the agriculture advocacy of the organization, particularly agri-logistics. MBC Vice Chairman Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala, Treasurer Riza Mantaring, Ramon del Rosario Jr., and Peter Maquera have been continuously involved in public-private discussions for various policies that involve the business community.

The re-elected members of the board will join Edgar Chua, Lito Tayag, Dr. Aris Alip, Cosette Canilao, and Amb. Jose Cuisia Jr. whose 2-year term will end next year and will be up for re-election.

In this year’s board of trustees election, notable MBC member representatives ran as nominees alongside incumbent trustees. Included in the stellar list of nominees are Tricia Camarillo-Quiambao of IPG Mediabrands, Benjamin Castillo of Bankers Association of the Philippines, Mario Domingo of DARC Labs, and Henry Soesanto of Monde Nissin.

During the meeting, MBC executive director Apa Ongpin joined Chairman Edgar Chua, Trustees Riza Mantaring, and Lito Tayag led the report to the members of the organization present. Highlight successes include MBC’s first ever Agriculture and Food Security Summit and Golf Tournament, along with achievements in creating spaces for members to engage with global leaders and foreign delegates.

After the meeting, the members were given a chance to network with other members, partners, foreign dignitaries, and the trustees.

MBC’s Annual General Meeting is usually held in the middle of the year and it gathers the biggest member attendance among MBC-led events. In 2026, five (5) seats in the board of trustees will be up for election.
