Embassy Engagements Officer

Makati Business Club is seeking an Embassy Engagements Officer to manage and coordinate engagements with embassies for MBC events—including, but not limited to, the Foreign Leaders Series and the Annual Golf Tournament—while maintaining active and strategic embassy contacts. This is a one-year project-based engagement.

Duties and Responsibilities

Embassy Engagement and Coordination

  • Support the Membership & Events team with confirming speakers for the Foreign Leaders Series (often involving embassy collaboration) and manage embassy coordination for the Annual Golf Tournament.
  • Maintain strong working relations with embassies, diplomats, trade representatives, and contacts from business chambers, and other business organizations. 

Research and Writing

  • Conduct desk research on current trade policies, investment opportunities, and the status of bilateral relations between the Philippines and key trading partners.
  • Prepare meeting briefs, talking points, emcee guides, and other related writing materials for MBC board members and other principals.

Events Management

  • Conceptualize, coordinate, and execute trade, investment, and other related activities that promote economic linkages between business and embassies (e.g., courtesy calls, closed-door meetings, networking cocktails, forums, receptions, etc.).
  • Assist with the logistical and coordination requirements for MBC’s Golf Tournament 2026 and other events where key embassy contacts are expected to ensure smooth event delivery.  

Other Duties

  • Perform other related duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of International Relations, Political Science, Economics, Diplomacy or other related fields.
  • 1-2 years experience in a related field is an advantage. 
  • Strong research and writing skills, knowledge and/or strong interest in trade, investment, and geopolitical issues.
  • Strong event management skills, proactive, organized, and can work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong partnerships with embassies, diplomats, and trade organizations to strengthen MBC’s global network and collaboration opportunities.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and execute trade, investment, and other related events that promote cross-sector collaboration and economic linkages.
