Project Officer - Transparency and Accountability in Public Infrastructure (SME Anti-Bribery and Business Integrity Toolkit)

The Project Officer will support the implementation of the SME Anti-Bribery and Business Integrity Toolkit workstream by coordinating stakeholder engagements, supporting toolkit development activities, organizing workshops and trainings, conducting research, and managing project documentation. The position will assist in the modernization, validation, rollout, and promotion of the toolkit to help SMEs strengthen business integrity practices, improve internal controls, and reduce corruption risks in infrastructure-related supply chains.

Working closely with the Project Lead, toolkit developers, partner organizations, business associations, SMEs, and other stakeholders, the Project Officer will provide day-to-day coordination and implementation support to ensure the timely delivery of project activities and outputs. The role will also support outreach, training, and integrity promotion activities designed to increase toolkit adoption and strengthen ethical business practices among SMEs.

Responsibilities

1. Project Coordination and Implementation Support

  • Support the implementation of project activities, work plans, and timelines.

  • Coordinate day-to-day project activities and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.

  • Assist in tracking project milestones, deliverables, and reporting requirements.

  • Maintain project records, files, and documentation.

  • Support the preparation of project updates, activity reports, and donor reporting requirements.

2. Toolkit Development Support

  • Assist in the review and modernization of the existing SME Anti-Bribery and Business Integrity Toolkit.

  • Conduct background research on corruption risks, procurement vulnerabilities, business integrity practices, and SME compliance challenges.

  • Gather and organize reference materials, case studies, policy documents, and stakeholder inputs.

  • Coordinate with toolkit developers, consultants, and technical reviewers during toolkit development and revision processes.

  • Support the documentation and consolidation of comments and recommendations from stakeholders and reviewers.

3. Stakeholder Engagement and Partnership Coordination

  • Coordinate consultations and meetings with CIPE, the Integrity Initiative, ARTA, chambers of commerce, contractor associations, professional bodies, SMEs, and other stakeholders.

  • Prepare meeting invitations, agendas, briefing materials, attendance sheets, and minutes.

  • Maintain stakeholder databases and engagement records.

  • Support follow-up actions and communication with partner organizations.

  • Assist in building and maintaining relationships with participating SMEs and partner institutions.

4. Validation Workshops and Consultations

  • Support the planning and implementation of toolkit review workshops, validation workshops, and consultation sessions.

  • Coordinate participant invitations, registration, logistics, and workshop documentation.

  • Collect and consolidate participant feedback and evaluation results.

  • Prepare workshop summaries, reports, and recommendations.

  • Assist in incorporating validation findings into toolkit revisions.

5. Training and Capacity Building Support

  • Support the organization and implementation of pilot training sessions and capacity-building activities for SMEs.

  • Coordinate training schedules, participant registration, resource persons, and logistical requirements.

  • Prepare training materials, participant kits, presentations, and evaluation tools.

  • Assist in monitoring participant attendance and training outcomes.

  • Support post-training follow-up and documentation of SME adoption experiences.

6. Integrity Campaign and Outreach Support

  • Assist in the implementation of awareness campaigns, webinars, integrity forums, and toolkit promotion activities.

  • Coordinate with the Communications Officer on the development and dissemination of communication materials.

  • Support outreach activities through business associations, chambers of commerce, and partner organizations.

  • Assist in documenting integrity pledges, awareness activities, and stakeholder commitments.

  • Support efforts to increase toolkit visibility and adoption among SMEs.

7. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Documentation

 

  • Maintain records of project activities, stakeholder engagements, workshop participation, and training outputs.

  • Support the collection and organization of monitoring and evaluation data.

  • Assist in preparing project progress reports and activity summaries.

  • Document lessons learned, participant feedback, and examples of toolkit adoption.

  • Maintain organized project files and documentation in accordance with donor requirements.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Political Science, Development Studies, Economics, Communications, Law, or a related field.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in project coordination, stakeholder engagement, governance, compliance, business development, training, or related fields.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience organizing workshops, consultations, meetings, or training activities.
  • Strong research and documentation abilities.
  • Familiarity with governance, anti-corruption, compliance, business integrity, or SME development issues is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
