Projects & Grants Manager
Makati Business Club is looking for a Projects & Grants Manager who will oversee MBC’s portfolio of funded projects, ensuring compliance with grant requirements, and maintaining strong relationships with funders. Additionally, the role includes assisting with writing and applying for new grants to support MBC’s mission. This is a regular position, and the Manager will be working with a young, fun, and dynamic staff.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Grant Management & Compliance
- Manage and monitor compliance with funder requirements for all existing grants, ensuring all activities and expenditures are within approved budgets and adhere to the rules set by the funding agency.
- Coordinate with MBC’s finance and project teams to ensure accurate tracking, documentation, and reporting of grant expenses.
- Serve as the main point of contact with funders for grant-specific communications, including USAID, DFAT, and similar funding bodies.
- Project Oversight & Coordination
- Oversee the day-to-day management of MBC’s funded projects, ensuring projects are implemented on time and within scope.
- Develop and maintain project work plans, timelines, and budgets in coordination with project leads to meet internal and funder requirements.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, making adjustments as necessary to achieve project objectives.
- Fund Development & Grant Applications
- Lead in identifying and applying for new funding opportunities that align with MBC’s mission and strategic goals.
- Collaborate on writing and preparing grant applications, ensuring proposals meet funder requirements and are aligned with MBC’s capabilities and objectives.
- Build and nurture relationships with current and prospective funders to support ongoing and future projects.
- People management
- Oversight over project teams involved in governance and capacity building.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration
- Work closely with other departments to ensure alignment between MBC’s programs and funder requirements, contributing to the overall success and sustainability of initiatives.
- Provide training and support to project teams on grant compliance and reporting standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Development Studies, Economics, Political Science or a related field.
- At least 4-6 years of experience in project management or grants management, preferably in an NGO or similar setting.
- Familiarity with grant compliance rules and regulations of major funders such as USAID, DFAT, and other international or government funding agencies.
- Strong financial management skills, with the ability to interpret and manage budgets and expenditures.
- Experience in grant writing or supporting grant applications is highly desirable.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, with a detail-oriented approach to project tracking and reporting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for managing relationships with funders, partners, and internal teams.
- Proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with monitoring and evaluation processes is preferred.
- Knowledge of development sector trends, particularly in governance, sustainability, and social impact is preferred.
