Communications Officer
Makati Business Club, in collaboration with USAID, will be implementing this year’s Digital Democracy program, a process which encourages participation and good governance in LGUs.
Makati Business Club is looking for a Communications Officer to support the Digital Democracy (DD) Program, which promotes participatory governance and civic engagement in LGUs. This role is crucial for capturing the impact of the program, creating engaging content, and amplifying its achievements through various communication channels. This engagement will run for four (4) months.

Duties and Responsibilities
The Communications Officer will be responsible for effectively communicating the objectives, activities, and achievements of the Digital Democracy program to key stakeholders.
Key tasks include:
- Testimonial Videos and Stakeholder Engagement
- Leverage existing content from the Digital Democracy Awards, including interviews with stakeholders and LGU officials, to produce high-quality testimonial videos.
- Edit and package the materials into compelling videos that showcase the program’s impact and the perspectives of participants.
- Coordinate with the project team to identify and highlight the most impactful stories for broader dissemination.
- Website Updates
- Update and maintain the Digital Democracy section of the MBC website with 2024 program highlights, achievements, and multimedia content.
- Ensure the website reflects the most recent and accurate information about the program, including resources for stakeholders.
- Content Creation
- Develop compelling content for newsletters, press releases, social media posts, and presentations that highlight the program’s successes and future directions.
- Create visuals, graphics, and other materials that resonate with diverse audiences, including LGU officials, civil society organizations, and the general public.
- Social Media Campaigns
- Work with MBC’s communications team to design and execute social media campaigns to increase visibility and engagement with the Digital Democracy program.
- Promote testimonial videos, program resources, and updates on awards and activities through targeted campaigns.
- Program Presentation Development
- Create a detailed presentation that consolidates all new program data, activities, and achievements from 2024.
- Ensure the presentation is visually compelling, accurate, and ready for use in meetings, workshops, and conferences.
- General Communications Support
- Collaborate with the MBC team to identify new opportunities for stakeholder engagement and outreach.
- Assist with the design and dissemination of promotional materials for upcoming workshops, training sessions, and related events.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
- Proven experience in communications, marketing, or public relations, preferably in development or governance programs.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create engaging content for diverse audiences.
- Strong graphic design skills with proficiency in software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or Canva.
- Experience managing social media platforms and executing effective campaigns.
- Knowledge of digital marketing tools and techniques.
- Passion for civic engagement, governance, and participatory democracy is a strong plus.
