Sustainability Officer
The Makati Business Club is looking for one (1) Project Officer on Sustainability to support the implementation of the “Advancing Sustainable Transformation in the Philippines” project in partnership with the Dutch Embassy. This role requires expertise in project coordination, stakeholder engagement, and a keen interest in sustainability to facilitate progress in areas like waste management and renewable energy initiatives.
The project aims to build partnerships between companies and government agencies to foster legislative alignment, support pilot projects, and drive discussions on sustainable practices in the Philippines.
This engagement will run for ten (10) months.
Duties and Responsibilities
Organize and coordinate multi-stakeholder roundtable discussions on circular economy and renewable energy.
Assist in policy research and the preparation of policy briefs, discussion papers, and project documentation.
Engage with private sector partners to ensure comprehensive participation and feedback.
Manage logistics for meetings and events, including venue booking, participant coordination, and technical arrangements.
Document key insights from stakeholder engagements and support the development of post-event reports.
Assist in convening the first-ever MBC Sustainability Committee, facilitating member engagement and participation.
Provide administrative support and ensure the timely completion of project deliverables.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in development studies, public policy, environmental science, or a related field.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in project coordination or policy advocacy.
Proven ability to plan and manage logistics for events and meetings.
Strong follow-through skills and a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
Curiosity and proactive problem-solving capabilities.
Excellent communication skills, with a focus on strong writing ability.
Experience working with stakeholders from various sectors is a plus.
