Philippine-Singapore Forum Deepens Dialogue on Carbon Credits Cooperation and High-Integrity Carbon Markets

On October 2, MBC, Singapore Embassy in Manila, and the Philippines-Singapore Business Council co-organized the High-Level Forum on Carbon Credits–the first of its kind to chart the way forward on carbon credits cooperation.

Building the Philippine carbon market, and the Role of the Philippine-Singapore Implementation Agreement on Carbon Credits

As the global momentum for climate action accelerates, the Philippines is taking steps to develop a credible, high integrity carbon market aligned with international standards. At the same time, Singapore and the Philippines are deepening cooperation on climate and environmental issues, particularly through the ongoing negotiation of a bilateral Implementation Agreement on Carbon Credits under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.

This panel will discuss the evolving carbon credit ecosystems in both countries and the mutual benefits of enhanced collaboration. It will provide insights into the development of enabling legislative and regulatory frameworks in the Philippines and examine how the country is working with international partners like Singapore.
