Agriculture Project Officer

The Makati Business Club (MBC) is looking for an Agriculture Project Officer who will support the implementation of the Makati Business Club’s Adopt-A-Coop Program, a core initiative under MBC’s agriculture advocacy. The officer will help coordinate training, engage private sector partners and cooperatives, and support monitoring and documentation of project outcomes.

Responsibilities

Adopt-A-Coop Project Support 

  • Support the preparation and coordination of training plans for Adopt-A-Coop partner cooperatives, starting with IMDALSA.
  • Coordinate with trainers, MBC members, and partners to support the delivery of training activities, including identifying appropriate trainers and assessing their fit with the cooperative’s training needs.
  • Assist in organizing training sessions, site visits, and related field activities.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Coordinate with MBC member companies participating as trainers or technical resource persons.
  • Support engagement with partner organizations and cooperative networks (e.g., NATCCO).
  • Participate in meetings with cooperatives, partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and participate in meetings with government agencies, private sector partners, and farmer cooperatives.
  • Prepare meeting notes, briefs, and follow-up reports.

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning

  • Track project progress and document training activities, outputs, and outcomes.
  • Lead basic data collection and documentation to assess community-level impact.
  • Consolidate lessons learned for internal learning, reporting, and future project improvement.
  • Document lessons learned and success stories from project implementation.

Research and Documentation

  • Conduct basic research related to cooperative development, agriculture markets, or project needs.
  • Contribute to activity summaries, progress updates, and simple project reports. 
  • Contribute to the preparation of concept notes, proposals, and progress reports.
  • Maintain organized project files and records.

Administrative and Logistical Support

  • Provide logistical and coordination support for field activities and meetings.
  • Maintain accurate project files, records, and databases.
  • Assist in financial documentation and liquidation when needed.
  • Provide coordination and logistical support for field activities and meetings.

Communications and Content Support

  • Draft and prepare basic social media content related to Adopt-A-Coop activities, including captions and short posts.
  • Coordinate with the MBC Communications team on visuals, messaging, and posting schedules.
  • Identify and document project milestones, field activities, and success stories suitable for communications use.
  • Support the preparation of simple communications materials for internal updates, partners, and public-facing channels.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree related to Development Studies, Public Administration, Management, or Economics.
  • At least 2 years of experience in project implementation, coordination, or stakeholder management.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel for project activities.
  • Strong writing and reporting skills.
  • Familiarity with agriculture, rural development, or cooperative programs is an advantage but not required.
  • Experience engaging with government and private sector partners is a plus.
