MBC joins new USAID-backed Philippine E-Commerce Alliance

11 January 2023 — Makati Business Club (MBC) joined the E-Commerce Alliance, a private sector group that will promote reforms and best practices to boost the industry and the SMEs who rely on it. The Alliance is backed by USAID’s 5-year “SPEED” project, which aims to help transform 30,000 SMEs. (“SPEED” is “Strengthening Private Enterprise for the Digital Economy.”)
Part of their objectives are changes to make it more efficient and secure for businesses and individuals to transact online, improving digital payments and logistics, and ushering more SMEs into global value chains.
MBC Policy and Projects Head Roxanne Lu signed the MOU together with other business group leaders. US Ambassador MaryKay Carlson delivered the keynote and witnessed the signing.
