Globe Business and MBC: Outline the Blueprint for Philippine Enterprises

20 August 2026The Makati Business Club (MBC), in partnership with Globe Business, successfully hosted an exclusive roundtable discussion for C-suite leaders titled “Intelligent Transformation for Businesses: From Digital Solutions to Real Business Impact.” The session outlined a strategic blueprint for Philippine enterprises to navigate digital disruption. This is anchored on the 5Cs (Cloud, Connectivity, Cybersecurity, Collaboration, and Cognition) and the 3Ps (People, Process, and Platforms). The session demonstrated how companies can use technology investments to support core business goals, going beyond tool adoption to enable scalable growth, operational resilience, and measurable impact.

Globe Business Brand Head Anna Tecson emphasized that digital transformation today must go beyond the adoption of new technologies.

“The more important question now is how do we transform in a way that creates real business impact?…It’s about understanding how different capabilities, from connectivity and cloud to cybersecurity and data, can come together to help organizations make more efficient decisions and build resilience for the future,” Tecson highlighted.

Key discussion insights underscored the value of collaboration and knowledge sharing among business leaders—noting that transformation rarely happens in isolation but through conversations, shared experiences, and learning from peers navigating similar challenges.

Building on this theme, Globe Business Head of Business Consulting for Cloud Solutions Gerald Manalo discussed the realities of driving transformation across industries.

But in this fast-changing digital landscape, simply acquiring technology is not enough. It goes beyond digital transformation. It is now the concept of adding intelligence,” Manalo expounded on companies reinventing in order to cope to the evolving customer expectations.

According to Head of Business Consulting for Data Analytics and AI Carlo Pagulayan, Filipino organizations are increasingly recognizing AI as a strategic business priority. Pagulayan noted that the workforce adoption of AI already exceeds regional and global averages, reflecting the strong interest in leveraging the technology to improve productivity and decision-making. However, the lack of a clear strategic vision, organizational skill gaps, and the requirement for more robust governance frameworks to direct responsible AI adoption are some of the obstacles that organizations still face when scaling AI initiatives.

The roundtable concluded with a call for organizations to develop their own transformation roadmaps, ones that align technology investments with business objectives and prioritize resilience, security, and innovation. It ended with the moderator, Ambe Tierro, Country Managing Director of Accenture Philippines, wrapping up the discussion with key takeaways: “So, we heard that we have to be strategic, choose the right partner, lead with value, and make the data work for us… I will also offer my own acronym – I to I – Idea to Impact. I think with transformation, there has to be impact. [It’s] maybe a good idea, but if it doesn’t have a business impact, then it’s just a good idea.”

This roundtable marks the first in a series of collaborative sessions hosted by the Makati Business Club and Globe Business this year aimed at translating digital strategy into measurable business impact. The initiative directly supports MBC’s broader digital advocacy to strengthen Philippine digital resilience, accelerate technological adoption, and foster a competitive, future-ready enterprise landscape across the country. Through these ongoing conversations, MBC continues to provide business leaders with actionable frameworks and collaborative platforms to navigate digital transformation effectively.
