Taiwan’s COVID-19 Response

    2 June 2020 – MBC, in partnership with the Taiwan Economic and Cultural Office, hosted a digital forum with Ambassador Michael Hsu, Dr. Mei Shang Ho (Academia Sinica), and Dr. Ted Chang (Quanta Computer, top three contract manufacturer of computers, cellphones, etc.) to expound on Taiwan’s COVID-19 response and road to recovery.

    Joint Statement on Rule of Law in the Midst of COVID-19 Pandemic

      To mitigate the spread and impact of the COVID 19 virus, the government acted decisively and placed Luzon under severe quarantine measures starting March 17, 2020. In line with ensuing directives on the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Metro Manila, NCRPO chief Maj. Gen. Debold Sinas declared that – “We will arrest those who will not follow the guidelines”.

At the joint MBC-USABC event “Crisis Mode R&D”, the Philippine heads of three global pharmaceutical companies — Beaver Tamesis of MSD; Jean-Antoine Zinsou from Sanofi Pasteur; and Zainab Sadat of GSK — shed light on the challenges of vaccine research and development in crisis-mode.
